Dynamic variable lets you insert your data into the Survey URL. You can use this variable for personalizing survey questions using piping and segment the audience using filters in analysis.

## What are System Dynamic Variables? <a href="#h_105acade39" id="h_105acade39"></a>

Qwary supports some dynamic variables out of the box. Users can make use of the existing system dynamic variables or can choose to create their own.

### Here is the list of System Dynamic Variables: <a href="#h_17843bf5f6" id="h_17843bf5f6"></a>

| **Variable Name** | **Variable Description**                                                                                                     |
| ----------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| firstName         | Survey Contact First Name                                                                                                    |
| lastName          | Survey Contact Last Name                                                                                                     |
| email             | Survey Contact Email                                                                                                         |
| utm\_id           | Used to identify which ads campaign this referral references. Use **utm\_id** to identify a specific ads campaign            |
| utm\_content      | Used for A/B testing and content-targeted ads. Use **utm\_content** to differentiate ads or links that point to the same URL |
| utm\_term         | Used for paid search. Use **utm\_term** to note the keywords for this ad                                                     |
| utm\_campaign     | Used for keyword analysis. Use **utm\_campaign** to identify a specific product promotion or strategic campaign              |
| utm\_medium       | Use **utm\_medium** to identify a medium such as an email or cost-per-click                                                  |
| utm\_source       | Use **utm\_source** to identify a search engine, newsletter name, or another source                                          |
| agent\_name       | Use **agent\_name** for customer service agent names                                                                         |
| agent\_email      | Use **agent\_email** for customer service agent emails                                                                       |
| agent\_id         | Use **agent\_id** for customer service agent identifications                                                                 |
| company\_name     | Use **company\_name** to identify leads organization                                                                         |
| company\_industry | Use **company\_industry** to identify leads industry                                                                         |
| plan              | Use **plan** to identify subscription plans                                                                                  |
| referral\_url     | Use **referral\_url** to record targeting URL's                                                                              |
| respondent\_id    | Use **respondent\_id** to identify the survey audience                                                                       |

## How to add custom Dynamic Variables for your survey? <a href="#h_1a2ff60422" id="h_1a2ff60422"></a>

### Go to your chosen survey and Select Logic from Left Menu Options.

Click **`+ ADD NEW VARIABLE`**

### Create New Variable and Click **`Create`**

## How to personalize your survey with Dynamic Variables? <a href="#h_8bf1fd65da" id="h_8bf1fd65da"></a>

If the survey is created after 2nd Sep 2021, You can pipe system dynamic variables to the survey welcome page, thank you page, question title, and answer text.

### Click the button **`P`** on the welcome page, thank you page, question title, or answer text and it will open up a new dropdown.

### Select **Survey Variables > Choose Variable** Or **Contact Details > Choose Contact Field to Personalize by Audience Names.**
