GDPR Compliance
What does GDPR stand for?
GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation. It's the core of Europe's digital privacy legislation.
How did it come about?
In January 2012, the European Commission set out plans for data protection reform across the European Union in order to make Europe fit for the digital age. Almost four years later, an agreement was reached on what that involved and how it will be enforced.
What “personal data” is
The GDPR has a broad definition for this term, and it generally encompasses any and all information about a specific person, including:
Name
Email address
Date of birth
Physical address
Profile photo
Social media username
Or any other information that can lead to identifying a real person.
How Qwary prepared for GDPR?
We’ve been put in a lot of work behind the scenes to get ready for GDPR and help our customers comply with GDPR. We have reviewed all our internal data collection processes and security procedure to meet the highest standards. We have provided GDPR training to all the employees who have data access. We have disabled personal data collection even when our customer has GeoIP Services enabled for projects. We have updated our privacy policy, terms of use, and data protection agreement to include GDPR. While we will process customer data, the customer has complete control over edit, delete, retain or transfer data.
Who are Qwary's data processing partners?
We rely on third-party companies to help us assist with our operations. Your data may be shared with the provider depending on your account type.
